Pueblo Pibil

Tasting Menu

Tixkokob (~20 km from Mérida)

A once-in-a-trip experience: Yucatecan dishes cooked underground ('pib') over chukum wood for more than 15 hours, served as a 10- or 15-course tasting menu (the 'Festín de Xibalbá'), complete with the theatrical 'unearthing' of the food. It's ~20 km outside the city in Tixkokob — reservation required, and worth the drive.
